Welcome!
I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Maryland. I got my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from University of California, Berkeley in 2007, and was a Courant Instructor in 2007-2010 in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Science, New York University.
My current research is concerned with the applied stochastic processes, developing tools for studying rare events. A popular description can be found in the web page Rare Events.
My another area of research interests lies in seismic modeling, estimating the sound speed inside the Earth from the surface measurements. A popular description can be found in the web page Seismic Modeling.
