I'm a sixth year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park.  I'm starting a postdoc at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland in the fall, studying applications of Number Theory and Class Field Theory to problems in communications.

Research

My dissertation research was about Weil-étale cohomology over local fields.  The main results are duality theorems which parallel classical theorems from Galois and étale cohomology.  My thesis results are available on the arXiv, at http://arxiv.org/abs/1111.6710

Here is an expository outline of my thesis, intended for a general mathematical audience.  My thesis adviser is Niranjan Ramachandran.

Here are my solutions to many of the exercises from Commutative Algebra by Atiyah and MacDonald.

Teaching

This semester I'm TA'ing Applied Probability and Statistics.  The professor is John Millson, and the course webpage is here.

I'm also a mentor for the Directed Reading Program, and previously was a teaching assistant for SPIRAL.

I volunteer with LET'S GO Boys and Girls, an organization based in Annapolis, MD, dedicated to improving STEM education.

Here are slides for an expository talk I recently gave on introductory topology to the Math Honors Society at Winston Churchill Hill School, located in Potomac, MD.

Other Stuff

I love running, and spend a lot of time running the trails at Rock Creek Park.  I recently ran the National Marathon in Washington DC, as well as the Amish Country Half Marathon, which I finished in 1:55:45, a personal best.

Two summers ago a friend and I went on a month-long road trip from New York City to Los Angeles and back.  Here are some of the more scenic photos we took.
