    You should come to the discussion session prepared to:
  • Discuss or ask questions about current homework problems;
  • Turn in homework problems;
  • Take a quiz with problems similar to the homework;
  • Complete worksheets with problems similar to the homework.

    The 100 points for the discussion section will be broken down as follows:
  • 60 points for quizzes (on Thursdays)
  • 40 points for homework (due on Tuesdays)

    The homework grading scheme:
    The in-class assignments are graded out of 4, where the numbers mean:
  • 4: solution is correct and well-written
  • 3: solution is correct, but not clearly written
  • 2: solution is partially correct
  • 1: minimal progress towards a solution
  • 0: no progress towards a solution.
    An average of 3/4 over the semester guarantees full-credit on the homework portion of the class. Please check with me if you have any questions.

    Remember that I am here to answer any questions you may have, and you have many opportunities for this:
  • in class (Tuesday/Thursday 8am or 9am in Math 0201)
