Abstract

Understanding how information spreads throughout a population can help public health officials improve how they communicate with the public in emergency situations. In this project, I implement an agent-based information diffusion model inspired by the Bass model. I compare my discrete-time implementation to a traditional differential-equation conceptualization of the Bass model. Finally, I test my model by seeing how well it predicts the spread of information through an actual Twitter network.
