Student Comments:
Email: "Thanks for the thoughtful comments on the homework. They really helped me correct my mistakes"

Elementary Differential Equations (UMCP MATH 246)

Student Comments:
"I attribute anything I learned in this class to the work of myself, my classmates and my TA. I am glad that Toni was there to help me through this class. She is very smart and knows what she is doing."
"This course was very well presented"
"The quizzes were challenging but helped in getting the point across. They should have been shorter since the TA always wasted our time explaining why certain processes worked instead of doing the actual problems."
"Toni is definitely the best Math instructor I had in my whole career as a stduent at UMD. She's dedicated to teaching and patient to those who have difficulty in understanding."
"Toni always goes the extra mile to make sure students understand the material. Extremely helpful and courteous towards students. You go Toni."
Email: "Thank you for all of your help this semester. I would like to be your student once more. Do you know what you're teaching in the fall? If possible I will register in your class."
Email: "You were the only TA to hold review sessions, prepare study guides and encourage us to learn. Moreover, you went out of your way to not only for me but for other students as well. Thank you for finding the time to help us all out. Good Luck with your research!"
"Extremely qualified, best TA to date at UMD"
Email: "You've been really helpful this semester and I really appreciate your huge patience! haha :-P As everyone says, you're the best TA ever."

Multivariable Calculus (UMCP MATH 241)

Student Comments:
"Toni is an oustanding TA. I was greatful in having her. She made things clear, explained things well, she was very approachable. It was a nice atmosphere to be in"
"Toni knows her stuff, unlike most TA's. Very friendly and always willing to help make sure you understand the material. Always available for help outside class too. Very dedicated TA who makes students work hard for that "A." "
" Ms. Toni was able to answer to everyone's questions. I Also really liked the the online study guides and supplementaries and the fact that she usually posts the answers to quizzes on line. Even though I couldn't make the review sessions, I always felt prepared for the exams becuase of the online materials. Since we don't always have time to go over every homework problem in class, maybe she can post solutions to the problems we don't get to. Other than than, Ms. Toni is the best."
" The Review sessions were awesome. It was worth staying late. The study guides were a really hard, but it helped that we had the extra discussion time to go over solutions. It would be nice to announce quizzes so I could make sure to do the homework that night before hand. But...anyway, you are the best TA."
"Toni started off pretty good, but then once she started giving her impossible quizzes every time, things got frustrating. Also, she's occasionally too out of it to give good explanations of anything. Plus her reviw sessions have no structutre, the study guides were nothing like the actual exams and she once made students grade others papers. I guess her explanations of homework problems are pretty good though. All in all, I think she needs to realize that she is supposed to be helping our grade and helping us learn, not killing our grade with quizzes and stressing us out."
" Thus far, Toni has been the best math TA I've had. She's been fair about everything and considerate as well."
"The GTA was very smart and helpful. She does very well in preparing students for exam. The quizzes usually seem really hard when you take them but she usually posts solutions and then they don't look that bad or easy. Keep up the great work!"
"She really knew what she was talking about, and that helped for her communication abilities. Also she was very willing to help individual students during her office hours, often extending them to accompany[sic] a student's needs."
"Toni Watson is definitely the smartest TA I've had. But she was always trying to show off by talking about general concepts or applications to upper level classes, especially math classes, which most of us will never take. If we didn't have to deal with that, we could've gotten more HW problems done. On the up side, she actually spoke clearly and was very organized."
"Her knowledge to begin with helps. I've had TAs that seem like they are learning the material along with the pace of the class. And she pays attention individually."
"Toni has awesome handwriting and her method of doing problems is organized and consistent. Her methods were sometimes different than the lecturer professor's, but alot of times, it made the problem easier to solve. Great job!"
"She really knows the material and how to teach it. The VERY rare times she wasn't sure about something, instead of pretending she's 100%, she would check with the class or email us that day to confirm or give us the correct explanation"
"Toni was really helpful, in general, one of the best TA's I've had. She was available and helpful during office hours and explained concepts at a level that I could understand, showing slightly different techniques than the professor which were useful. The review sessions and study guides were also really helpful."

Advanced Linear Algebra (UMCP MATH 405)

Student Comments:
Email: "Thank you so much for your help (and picky grading). I wouldn't be graduating if it weren't for you."

Pre-Calculus (UMCP MATH 115)

Student Comments:
"We always covered alot of material, but it never seemed like we were going too fast. Toni was always patient with us and never made us feel stupid."
"Toni made everything look so easy. Which was good and bad since I didn't always do my homework."
"Toni was a very good instructor. It helped that she spoke [clearly]. Even though it was 8 AM, she always had alot (too much sometimes) of energy. The quizzes were hard, but really helped us prepare for the exams."
"I was worried at first because I came from [Developmental Math]. But Ms. Watson was really organized and patient which made it easier. WebAssign was impossible, but she always knew how to help us understand and often gave us hints on the correct way to fill in the answers. Her office hours were helpful too."
"Ms. Watson gave us really good ways to solve hard problems, like the trig identities, but her office hours were too early and I had a class during her Math Lab hour."
