Welcome to the Women in Mathematics (WIM) Web Page
Women in Math (WIM) is an organization at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP). WIM is dedicated to serving the needs of women mathematicians at UMCP. We are planning many activities for the upcoming semester, including monthly lunches.
Women in Stat!
The Women in Mathematics Organization, in conjunction with the Statistics Consortium and the Applied Mathematics & Statistics and Scientific Computation program, is organizing an event to celebrate women across the campus whose research involves some sort of applied statistics or stochastic processes. The event will be held Wednesday, April 15th at 5 pm in the Mathematics building. The event will consist of a panel discussion from 5 - 5:45 in MTH 3206 followed by a reception from 5:45 - 7 in MTH 3201. The panelists will be available to further discuss their careers and research with the participants during the reception.
All undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post docs, regardless of gender and major, are invited to attend.
Come out and see the various exciting applications of statistics and stochastic processes!
